Does anyone know anything about this?

I imagine that LG is rebranding someone else's laptop, but I'm not sure who's...

In any case, I need to buy, for work, a 15.4" laptop with an integrated 10-key pad.  Weight is an issue, which rules out the various 17" models (Dell, HP, Toshiba).  Any suggestions?  Price is a consideration as well.  Also, a docking station will be needed, or a port replicator with video capability.  One of my issues with the LG above is I couldn't find a replacement/spare AC adapter that was specified for that model.  I'm relatively sure that one could be found, but I imagine it would be specified for whoever actually makes this laptop.  In any case, an extra AC adapter is important if the manufacturer doesn't make a docking station specifically for the model.

Help me internets... I have Googled my ass off.

I wouldn't be surprised if LG were a real manufacturer; they're one of those Korean companies who make things that other people put their brands on, really. It's only recently that they've started getting out there with their own name.

Thta said, Tiger Direct is semi-scammy, and people have lots of bad experiences with them.

So, any suggestions? What does your gut say?

Well, what I told my sister was to haunt dealnews.com and dealcatcher.com until you get a sense of what's a good deal. Dell in particular often has really big sales that lead to great deals. The Lenovo outlet periodically has some steals, too.

Beyond that, I don't really pay attention to the market much, so don't really know how that one compares.

LG is Litton Goldstar, post merger. So, half Korean.
