Buffy on the big screen (again)

No Joss. No scooby gang. No sense in Hollywood.

I kinda get the lack of a Scooby gang as central characters, but I feel like Joss is essential and that the gang should support somehow. I can see a franchise opportunity with the "Into each generation..." angle. But the whole thing falls apart without the Buffyverse Joss created.

Okay, I liked the modern I, Robot once I realized that they were telling a different story within the same universe as the original Asimov tales, and not a bastardized and actionified retread of the original storyline. Then I could like it for what it was.

So maybe, just maybe that will be what this is: a re-telling within the same universe. So at that point I welcome a different perspective, one that was hinted at in the various cutscenes of the awakening Slayers in the series finale.

But yeah, that's an awful slim chance of success in a landscape of potential epic failure.

Star Trek is one thing, but it's a bit early for a Buffy re-boot, IMO. Give it 20 years.
